From rookies to rising stars within Tyson Properties

Two rising stars at Tyson Properties exemplify dedication and growth in real estate. Tyson Properties’ Rookie Agent of the Year, Nokuthula Sibisi, and Theresa Venter, who received the Rental Rookie of the Year, National Rookie and Silver Rookie in Sales awards have overcome challenges, built trust, supported by Tyson Properties’ mentorship and strong team culture.

When she first stepped into property, Nokuthula never imagined that she’d one day

be recognised as one of Tyson’s brightest rising stars. “I never thought of myself as an estate agent. A good friend suggested I give it a try, and I took the leap.”

She is the first to acknowledge it’s not an easy journey and that one needs to constantly learn. Starting out as a newcomer without a client base can be daunting. “When you’re new, no one knows you. People don’t easily trust someone with no track record. So, you have to prove yourself. That’s where things like social media, referrals, and word of mouth come in,” she explains.

More than just building a name, Nokuthula has built trust by treating every client with respect, understanding their unique needs, and being ethical and professional. “You’re dealing with different personalities and expectations. It teaches you about human nature. You can’t treat everyone the same. Each person is a new journey.”

For Theresa, joining Tyson two years ago, was the fulfilment of a longstanding dream to carve out a career in property.

“I’ve had the privilege of helping homeowners, buyers, and investors across the Western Seaboard make informed property decisions. From successfully closing deals in Table View, Parklands, and Melkbosstrand, to building long-term relationships with clients and staying ahead of market trends, it’s been an incredibly rewarding journey,” she says.

Along the way, she has gained in-depth knowledge of the local property market whilst also building a strong network of repeat and referral clients and growing her own brand through honest service, local insight, and client care.

She says receiving these awards was not just about recognition: “It was about validation. It meant that the late nights, countless viewings, phone calls, client follow-ups, and the deep commitment to learning the property industry truly mattered. The awards reminded me that success isn’t just about closing deals, it’s about showing up, staying consistent and always putting people first.”

The future is bright for both. Nokuthula’s journey in real estate is still unfolding. Currently completing her internship, she is working through her NQF4, building a portfolio and preparing for her PDE exam ‒ all necessary steps toward becoming a fully registered estate agent with the Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority.

Looking ahead, she has her sights set high: “One day, I want to be a Double Diamond agent. I know it’s a big challenge, but being Rookie of the Year shows me that it’s possible.”

Theresa finds herself in an active and resilient rental market along the Western Seaboard ‒ especially in areas like Table View, Parklands,

and Melkbosstrand. She expects demand for well-priced, quality rental properties to remain strong.

“I have grown here ‒ and I am still growing. From winning awards to carving out my place in rentals, Tyson gave me the space to learn, the tools to win, and confidence!” she concludes.
